OOCL Ranks in Top 5 for Documentation Performance

The North American Agriculture Transportation Coalition released a survey ranking ocean carrier ability to provide timely and accurate bills of lading. Other aspects of shipping were not included in the evaluation.

In 2007 the Agriculture Transportation Coalition performed an Ocean Carrier Documentation Performance Survey of 21 ocean container lines, ranking OOCL among the Top Five carriers.

The group said the main purpose of the confidential survey is to help spur improvement by carriers in the area of bills of lading. Members were asked to assign a number from one to four that reflects their experience with the documentation practices of the carriers with whom they ship. The numbers reflect these values:

1.  The Best: Dependably accurate and timely bills of lading documentation

2.  In the top half: Usually strong but not dependably accurate or timely.

3.  In the bottom half: Documentation is frequently undependable.

4.  The worst: Timely and accurate bills of lading are a constant problem.

OOCL received mid-to-best rankings from the shippers surveyed. Many congratulations go out to our documentation team.
